Ice Breaker...Completed by your Teacher...

Hello Job Skills Students, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself. You will be telling me about yourself too. I love my job! I love helping students love their jobs. This is my class quote: “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life, because it will be a passion!” This is a good quote to live by. Trust me I have had jobs I did not love and the work was "WORK" and it was hard and sometimes boring! My first job was at Snyder’s drug store when I was 15 years old. When I turned 16, I got a job in the Hopkins Public School District in the before and after-school daycare program called, Kids and Company. I really liked that job, however I knew I did not find my passion, so I continued to look...I ended up working at Kids and Company for 10 years. However, after I taught swimming lessons at Foss Swim School, which was not for me! I enjoy swimming, but teaching swimming was tough on my skin. My poor toes and feet hurt so badly after my shifts. So, I continued to look and then I decided to pursue my education in Elementary Education, when I was done I struggled to find a job in an Elementary School as a teacher, so I pursued more education in Special Education and received my Master's Degree from Mankato State University. I then, took a job as a teacher in a classroom for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Even though, I loved speaking sign language, I knew I still did not find my passion, so I pursued more education. I went to Bethel University to obtain my Work Based Learning Licensure and I have LOVED my job as a Work Coordinator-Teacher. I come from a small family. I lived in the same house from birth until I was married in 2006 and moved out. I lived there with my mom, dad and brother. We also had a family dog. My other family members are spread-out all over the US. So, as a family we traveled a lot to go visit them. Now, I live with my husband and our three fur-kids (Dogs) Ziva, Gibbs and Emmy. I love all animals! These are my kids:

These are my kids:

Ziva-Plott Hound (Rescue pup)

Gibbs-Pug Terrier (Rescue pup)

I can't wait to meet you and get to know you!

Thanks,

Tammy Mezzenga
