Electronic Databases

DatabaseNot as clumsy and random as the pages you may find on the World Wide Web, Electronic Databases provide excellent credible resources on all kinds of subjects.

There are significant differences between Search Engines and Electronic Databases though many of the search strategies are the same.

The Hennepin County Library in Minnesota provides an excellent summary of the differences between the two. After reading what they have to say you're almost ready to move on to your assignment. Before you can access all the tools you'll need you'll want to go to your own county library and sign up for a library card if you don't already have one. (They still exist and they still let you borrow stuff for free!)

The reason you'll need a library card is because MN residents have free access to some pretty amazing tools at the Electronic Library of MN (ELM).
