Ideas to build hand strength/fine motor coordination
[Activities can be modified based off age and level of functioning]
Use vertical surfaces (write or paint on easel, magnets, SmartBoard activities, tape paper to wall)
Squeeze (stress ball, putty, play doh, sponges, spray bottle)
Art activities
Crinkle paper (try using 1 hand only)
Cut with scissors
Tearing paper
“Walk” a ball up and down leg, across table, etc…
Lacing or stringing activities
Stickers
Write on chalk board (use chalk or paint brush with water)
Magna-Doodle
Maze worksheets
Color with broken crayons (or mini markers)
