Assessing Writing
The rubrics that Epsilon, Omegon and Headway use to assess student essays are all based on the 2002 GED Rubric. These three rubrics were developed together and are quite similar, with minor adaptations to best serve the needs of the unique student populations at each site. Links to each rubric can be found below. All three sites double rate student essays to ensure consistency in data collection. That is, each student essay is read and scored by at least two educators before feedback is given to students and data is collected.
