SUN- Social/Emotional and Behavior Skills

Focus is on teaching student self-calming, coping skills and appropriate social skills. Instruction is provided individually and/or in small groups throughout the day. Social skills classes focus on appropriate social skills such as, how to interact with others, turn taking, being part of a group, and social manners. Curriculum will be individualized to meet students' needs.

SUN- Communication

Focus is on increasing communication and language skills so students have socially appropriate interactions with others. Communication styles are customized to each individual student needs. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Home Living

Students learn skills necessary to increase independent living. These are skills they cn apply in functional situations in their residential settings. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Food Prep

Students participate in simple food prep classes so they can maximize their independence in the kitchen. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Self-Care

Focus is on maximizing independence on self-care skills such as eating, washing hands/face, brushing teeth, dressing, toileting skills. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Leisure/Recreation

Students learn individual and small group leisure/recreation skills so they can independently participate at their maximum level.  Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- School Community

Students participate in community environments working on a variety of skills to maximize their independence.Students focus on their appropriate social skills while in a variety of community environments. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Family Life

Focus is on learning to identify basic emotions, how to get along with others, basic body awareness and personal safety. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.

SUN- Career Awareness/Employment

Focus will be on developing work habits and work skills. Curriculum will be customized to meet individual student needs.
