Ideas for integrating SAI into Transition practices

Suggestions for integration of SAI into transition tools and practices:

  • CBVA tracking -bi-monthly

  • Case manager/ student check in meetings - bi monthly

  • Connecting community resources (VRS, SW, etc..) and supports to students goals

  • Monthly staff check-in related to identified students (rotate students) using guided questions on the mtg agenda

  • Increase collaboration with VRS counselors and employers

  • SEL integration into class time (self-management/self-awareness)

  • Can be addressed through learning intentions

  • Job coaches resources and tools to role play  and practice with students

  • Shared across program  (all staff can view student goals, progress, and strategies)

  • Designating professional learning time (late start days)

  • Staff check-in and discussions

  • Integrated in classes such as: BYOE, Communicating Effectively, Self-Awareness

  • Integrated into the IEP agenda

  • Can be used to support 3-year evaluations under all 3 areas of Transition

  • Student self-evaluation and empowers students to be part of the process

  • Tree- growth/fixed  mindset
