Video 4: 2 vs 1 Creative Attacking

2 vs 1 Creative Attacking

When players are learning how to score goals, they often run straight toward the goal. However, it can be better to confuse the defense by running in something other than a straight line. Watch this drill twice. The first time, notice how the players are working together to curl around the defense and confuse them. The second time, watch again and memorize the attackers' runs.

Key Points

1. First attacker with ball passes to his second attacker, then runs around the back of the second attacker.

2. Second attacker cuts toward the defender, then passes back to the first attacker, or heads for the goal. After passing, the second attacker continues toward the goal.

3. First attacker gets the ball back, then either shoots or passes back to the second attacker.

Advanced Creative Option

1. First attacker passes toward the second attacker, but the second attacker runs over the ball instead of picking it up.

2. First attacker gets his own pass, then goes toward goal, either shooting or passing back to the second attacker.
